On October 27, 2025, the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) opened with great success. The Sunricher booth drew continuous attention from visitors and industry professionals alike. Among them was Mr. Szymon Slupik, Chair of the Mesh Working Group at Bluetooth SIG and CTO at Silvair, who joined Sunricher for an exclusive on-site interview to share his vision for the future of Bluetooth Networked Lighting Control (NLC).

Mr. Slupik highlighted that “Bluetooth NLC is the first — and so far the only — scalable wireless professional lighting control system for commercial, industrial, and outdoor applications.” Built on Bluetooth Mesh technology, NLC defines standardized device profiles for a wide range of lighting and sensor products — from ambient light sensors to energy monitors. He also introduced the HVAC Integration Profile, which links occupancy sensors with thermostats to extend energy savings beyond lighting to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems — a key step toward multi-scenario energy efficiency.

Looking ahead, Mr. Slupik revealed that asset tracking and environmental sensing will be the next major frontiers for Bluetooth NLC. He also confirmed ongoing collaboration between Bluetooth SIG and the DALI Alliance on the new Bluetooth NLC to DALI interface (DALI Part 341), enabling seamless data exchange between DALI D4i drivers and Bluetooth wireless nodes. Praising Sunricher’s extensive NLC product lineup, he encouraged further innovation in sensing technologies, including radar-based presence detection and battery-free wireless devices that make lighting systems smarter, greener, and more flexible.
